Mysore Tucson is a group of Ashtanga yoga practitioners
Mysore Tucson is a place to learn and practice traditional Ashtanga yoga. Our purpose is to share community, companionship, and technique in this practice. Our community includes beginners and practitioners with many years of experience practicing together.
Please reach out to mysoretucson@gmail.com to join in. In your email, tell me a little bit about yourself, what day you would like to begin practice, and allow me a few days to respond.
Amanda Beekhuizen
I have been practicing Ashtanga yoga since 2013. I love to practice; it gives me a place to find steadiness and move with joy. In facilitating this group, I hope to share the magic, empowerment, community, and infinite exploration that this practice can bring. Beyond practicing yoga, I am a mother, artist, craftsperson, and small business owner.
I am very lucky to learn from Sharath Jois, Karen Kelley, Lisa Schrempp, Laurent Baig, Jason Stein, and AJ Frye. One of my mentors, Karl Burkheimer, explains craft (and yoga!) practice very beautifully: “the key to practice is the return.” Or, to borrow Yoga Sutra 1.14, we practice “for a long time, uninterrupted, with complete faith.”
